Close out a job and ask for the review

How to mark a roofing job complete and text or email the customer your Google review link — and why the review buttons stay disabled until that link is set.

3 min4 steps
  1. 1

    Find the close-out block

Open the job and look at the foot of the “Scheduled work date” card. The block is headed “Close out the job”: “Mark it done and ask the customer for a Google review while they're happy.”

  2. 2

    Complete it

“Complete & send review request” marks the job complete AND opens the send panel. “Just mark completed” closes it without offering the review. Either way the stage moves to Completed and today becomes the close date, which is the date Financials counts the job under.

  3. 3

    Send the request

In the send panel use “Copy text” (it flips to “Copied!”), “Text app” — only shown if the customer has a phone number — or “Email,” only shown if they have an email. Nothing sends by itself; your own phone or mail app is the last step.

  4. 4

    Afterwards

The heading changes to “Job completed” with a “Reopen” button, and a full-width “Send review request” button stays there so you can chase it later.

Good to know
  • No Google review link means no review offer. Without one you see “Add your Google review link in Settings to enable review requests,” “Complete & send review request” is disabled, and the “Send review request” button never appears. Set it in Settings → Google review link.
  • Using Google Voice? Tap “Copy text,” open Google Voice and paste — “Text app” opens your phone’s default messaging instead.
  • If “Show finished jobs on my website” is on, completing the job also publishes it to your town and service pages. “Reopen” takes it back down.
