Measure by hand

How to measure a roof by hand: add each plane as a facet and it totals the squares, or enter eaves, rakes and pitch and it estimates the squares for you.

   Open “Enter measurements by hand”

   On the “Measure the roof” card, expand “Enter measurements by hand.”

   Enter the roof

   Measure each roof plane and add it as a facet — length × width. RidgeSync totals the area as you type and turns the same numbers into the metal panel cut list, so a hand measurement works on its own for shingles or metal. No facets? Enter Eaves, Rakes and Pitch and it estimates the squares instead. Add Pitch, Flat area and the linear feet for trims.

   Add linear feet

   Enter Eaves, Rakes, Ridges, Hips, Valleys, Step/Wall flashing and Transitions — these drive the material quantities.

   Click “Save measurements.”
