The Expenses page

How the Expenses screen works — year tabs, a search box, separate Overhead and Monthly bills tables with totals, and inline edit and delete on each row.

3 min4 steps
  1. 1

    Open it

Expenses sits under Tools in the sidebar: “Overheads and one-off costs that are not tied to a single job — insurance, fuel, dump fees, tools. These come off the bottom line on Financials.” Admin only.

  2. 2

    Pick a year

The year pills at the top right switch the whole page. Everything you add is filed under the year showing.

  3. 3

    Overhead or Monthly bill

“Overhead (one-time)” is a one-off with a Date — a filing fee, a set of tools, a bond. “Monthly bill” is something that repeats and takes a Month instead — insurance, Google ads, a phone plan. They get their own table and their own total, and Financials subtracts them as two separate lines.

  4. 4

    Search, edit, delete

The “Search expenses…” box filters both tables live and shows “<n> found.” The pencil (“Edit expense”) turns a row into fields — change the name, the amount, and the date on an overhead — then the tick saves and the X cancels. The trash icon asks “Delete this expense?” first.

Good to know
  • Empty tables read “No overhead logged for <year>.” and “No monthly bills logged for <year>.” — those are just empty states, not an error.
  • Every change here re-runs Financials, so the P&L and the CSV export stay in step.
